The London Transport Traction Group was formed towards the end of May 2020 with the founding aim of preserving an example of the Class 483 -1938 Tube Stock- Electric Multiple Units then in use on South Western Railway's Island Line route.
Since then we have acquired two Class 483 EMUs from South Western Railway, 483006 and 483008, as well as the gifting of an ex-LNWR 'Oerlikon' motor bogie from Network Rail. All of our heritage vehicles are currently stored at the Llanelli & Mynydd Mawr Railway, situated in Carmarthenshire. We are working towards the cosmetic restoration and eventually the ability to overhaul and run our two Class 483 trains on the L&MMR and other heritage railways.
