483008 is currently intended to be used as a storage unit for the LTTG's pool of spare parts and trimmings during the restoration of 483006. As part of its use in this role, 483008 will be repainted into London Transport 'Bus Red' livery.

No other 1938 stock vehicles currently carry this livery and it will make the ideal companion for 483006, allowing the LTTG to tell the full story of these trains' two very different careers; one in London, the other on the Isle of Wight.
